About Dr. White

Coastal Maine Foot and Ankle in Yarmouth, Maine, was founded by Barry White, DPM, in 2020 and opened its doors on June 15th. Dr. White has been practicing podiatry in Maine for the past 17 years, and after working as a partner in two large group practices, he made the decision to open his own practice. He is excited to be bringing the experience and knowledge he has gained to open what he is confident will become the center of excellence in foot and ankle care in Maine.

Dr. White and his staff at Coastal Maine Foot and Ankle are committed to providing patients and their families the best, most advanced foot and ankle care available with a personal and compassionate touch only possible in a small practice.

A native of New England, Dr. White was raised in the Boston area and spent many summers vacationing in Maine. He attended Springfield College for his undergraduate education, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in sports biology. He then received his medical education at Temple University, where he graduated with honors as salutatorian. He completed a three-year surgical residency at the former Graduate Hospital, also in Philadelphia, and served as chief resident his final year.

He has specialized training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and Charcot reconstruction. He also serves as the site director at Maine Medical Center for the Cambridge Hospital residency rotation.

Dr. White has extensive experience in all aspects of foot and ankle care, including surgical and conservative means of treatment. He specializes in bunion and hammertoe surgery, first MPJ arthritis, heel pain syndrome, tendon injuries, fractures of the foot and ankle, and diabetic limb salvage. He also offers a new effective in-office treatment for plantar warts called Swift Microwave Therapy. He is on staff at Mercy Hospital and Maine Medical Center and also operates out of the InterMed Surgical center.
